CLASS INFORMATION & SCHEDULES

ADULT BJJ

16 years old and up

Adult BJJ is a mixed level class combining beginner, intermediate, and advanced level students. Students are taught a wide range of techniques from self defense to sport BJJ and MMA. Through these classes students learn to handle stressful situations and potential altercations.  Fitness is an essential part of training to help students in both real life situations and competition BJJ. A typical class will start with warm up / conditioning, followed by instruction and sparring time.

KIDS BJJ

5 years old - 15 years old

Our kids classes are both fun and challenging, where students learn self defense awareness and jiu-jitsu techniques. Most importantly, students learn to earn the respect of their peers. Whether helping to improve their attention at school, learning discipline, or building self-confidence, we focus on the goals each student is looking to achieve by utilizing techniques and philosophy of Jiu-Jitsu. Similar to adult BJJ, each class will have warmup/conditioning, instruction, and sparring time.

GI CLASSES

Gi is a traditional uniform used in Jiu-Jitsu. It consists of a gi top, gi pants, and a belt. Belt colors range from white to black with other colors in between depending on rank. The gi allows students to learn technique by utilizing the gi for grips and submissions as well as slows down the fast paced sport of jiu-jitsu

NO GI CLASSES

No Gi is the closest thing to imitating a real-life altercation against an opponent with natural clothing (shorts, t-shirt, etc.) Students will usually wear a rash guard and board shorts or spats to protect their body. No gi jiu-jitsu has modified grips and positions to account for a more slippery opponent.

OPEN MAT

Open mat is time when the academy is open for students to be able to utilize what they have learned in class and work on specific skills and improving weaknesses. It provides free time to ask questions and more mat time to develop your jiu-jitsu.
